Kell Brook Looking To Unify Division

Kell Brook (36-1, 25 KOs) the IBF Welterweight champion took time to speak with ESPN from his training camp in Fuerteventura during preparation for his highly anticipated showdown with his mandatory challenger Errol Spence (21-0, 18KOs).

Among other things, he spoke of his desire to fight WBC/WBA champ Keith Thurman (28-0,22KOs) and unify the division before he moves on from the welterweight division. Brook said he had anticipated a Thurman win over Danny Garcia this past Saturday and hopes to be able to fight Thurman by years end. "Garcia and Thurman are both very good champions and it was very hard to split them but I thought Thurman would win the fight because Garcia had not faced a true welterweight before". Brook then went on to say "Thurman is a big welterweight who has competed at that weight his whole career. I would definitely like to fight Thurman because I want to unify the division before i move up. I think it would be a very explosive fight me and Keith Thurman". He also went on to say he thinks, "Thurman stands out from all the other welterweights", but then again Brook must first put Errol Spence away, even though there are quite a few boxing fans that are anticipating a Spence win.

So, here we are left to wait for the outcome and if Brook is successful we may get to see Brook vs Spence by years end. Only time will tell.
