Kell Brook - Brandon Rios fight falling apart

Kell Brook - Brandon Rios fight falling apart

Negotiations have been going on for a few weeks now between Kell Brook and Brandon Rios.  The fight was scheduled to take place on September 12 in England.  According to Brandon Rios' manager, Cameron Dunkin, the fight doesn't sound like it's very promising.

"I don't see it happening right now," Dunkin told Boxing Scene on Sunday afternoon.

"We've got too many problems with it.  It changes every time I speak with Top Rank and so I'm not feeling too positive about it right now."

Apparently the issue is coming from Kell Brook and Eddie Hearn of Matchroom Sports.  They want certain stipulations added to the contract.

"Options and rematch clauses and things like that.  I'm definitely not excited about that," he said.

One of the stipulations brought up by Cameron was that if Rios were to defeat Brook, there would be a rematch, which is fairly standard in a title fight.  However, the rematch would have to take place in England and the money wouldn't be that much different.

"That's a huge problem and the money doens't change hardly, at all," he stated.  "So there's just a lot of things.  We've got other things for Brandon and we'll be announcing something soon."
