Well, reports that Mayweather-Pacquiao has been signed looks to be greatly exaggerated. Which makes me wonder if Brian Williams is leaking this story. Pacquiao was interviewed by Boxing Scene and stated "There is no contract, but there is an agreement." But, news is slowly starting to trickle out about the contract. Apparently, Pacquiao asked for a 5 million dollar fine if either boxer fails the USADA drug tests. "In fact, it was me who requested that the contract include a $5-million fine for anyone who would fail the drug test," Pacquiao said in the interview. Let's see, 150 million minus 5 million equals . . . a truckload of money.
Hopefully a decision or announcement will be made soon. Mayweather has had two big opportunities to announce this fight between the Superbowl and the NBA All Star Weekend and has laid an egg on both occasions. Let's hope he performs better in the actual fight than he has at making this announcement.
