Joe Cortez talked with El Vocero about the talk of retirement. As most of us know, Floyd Mayweather has been stating that he will be retiring after fighting Andre Berto.
"I think Mayweather is a very smart fighter and he has managed to sell and market a fighter better than anyone, even Don King. He claims this is his last fight. For me, he's not fooling me with that this is his last fight, knowing that number 50 in the new MGM arena in Las Vegas may get him roughly$50 million [as a guarantee]. That fight will sell well and it would be against an opponent that people are willing to pay to see. At the same time, I know that he wants to break the record of Rocky Marciano."
