Tyson Fury: Lennox Lewis is a jealous has been

Tyson Fury and Lennox Lewis have gone toe-to-toe in a vicious Twitter row after Fury labelled the former undisputed heavyweight champion of the world a 'has-been' and accused him of jealousy in a magazine interview.

Lewis responded to the insults, which were published in Boxing News, by tweeting Fury a list on Tuesday morning of his achievements in the sport, including Olympic, British, Commonwealth and world titles, as well as his place in boxing's hall of fame.

Fury, who is a heavy underdog for his own shot at a world title on October 24 against Wladimir Klitschko, hit back with a string of abuse and an apparent suggestion that Lewis, 50, should fight his father, John, in a bareknuckle brawl.

Fury also labelled Lewis a 's*** trainer', citing his role as mentor to David Price ahead of his second loss to Tony Thompson in 2013, and wrote: 'Got David Price beat then took £15k from his purse. Top bloke he is, & he is worth 1 hundred million! Proper tight c***.'

He added: 'U might have won all those things u said but u will never be what I am a real man, b****.' In an invitation for Lewis to fight his father, who was known as 'Gypsy John Fury' in Eighties fight circles, he went on: 'If Lennox Lewis wants to do something come have a bare knuckle fight with my dad same age!'

Lewis responded by tweeting details of a fight in Canada on Friday, writing: 'This is where I'll be on Friday. #TellYourDad.'

Fury wrote back: 'Sorry Lennox my dad can't leave the UK as he is on license for punching p***** about like u! Or he would be there!'

When an observer asked Lewis if Fury could dominate the heavyweight division, Lewis said: 'Rule the division? I think not! He can't even beat me on Twitter!'
