Marcos Reyes said a couple of days ago that he doubts that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. will be able to make the contracted weight of 169 pounds. Turns out he was psychic. Chavez Jr. couldn't make the 169 pound weight limit, nor could he make the adjusted weight limit of 170 pounds. Chavez Jr. came in at 170.8 pounds. I don't understand why he can't come in on weight. Just a few days ago, he claimed that 168 is the weight he should be at.
Apparently an agreement has been reached and the fight will go on as planned. This is just another example of why there is so much backlash against Chavez Jr. He continues to not take his career seriously.
One has to wonder if he has another sub par performance if Robert Garcia will be forced to take the blame and be fired like Joe Goosen was. If he's not going to take his career seriously, he needs to find another profession.
