Dusty Hernandez Harrison earns a draw against Mike Dallas

Dusty Hernandez Harrison and Mike Dallas, Jr. battled to a 10-round split decision draw in the main event of the Throne Boxing/Roc Nation card at the DC Armory. Dallas Jr. was the aggressor throughout the contest as he landed crisp combinations to the body of the hometown boxer. Dallas, Jr. knocked down Harrison with a left hand in the fifth round. In the eighth round, Harrison seemed to hit Dallas with a low blow that dropped him to the canvas. However, referee Malik Waleed ruled a knockdown for Harrison. Both men landed solid shots at the end of the bout. Judge Paul Wallace scored the bout for Dallas, 96-92. Judge Tammye Jenkins saw the contest for Harrison, 95-94. Judge Wayne Smith saw the draw, 95-95. Harrison remains undefeated at 29-0-1, 16 KO’s. Dallas is now 21-3-2, 10 KO’s.


Philadelphia, PA heavyweight Darmani “Rock Solid” Rock made his pro debut a successful one dispatching of “The DC Diamond Cutter” Carlos Black of Rockville, MD in less than two minutes. Rock was able to parry Black’s early punches before swarming Black with heavy shots of his own. A three-punch combination by Rock dropped Black to the canvas. Black barely beat referee Michelle Myers’s count but Myers deemed Black unfit to continue. The bout was stopped at 1:54. Black falls to 1-4.

Orlando “Orlandito” Del Valle of Bayamon, Puerto Rico won an eight-round unanimous decision over Thomas “The Franchise ” Snow of Washington, DC. Del Valle dropped Snow twice with left hands, once in the second round and once in the third. Snow managed to come back and had a strong seventh round as he landed punches to Del Valle’s mid-section. However, Del Valle finished strong and got the victory by identical scores of 76-74 across the board. Del Valle raises his record to 21-2, 15 KO’s while Snow falls to 18-3, 12 KO’s.

In a cruiserweight contest “The Vanilla Gorilla” Sam Crossed of Greenbelt, MD won a four-round majority decision over “Talented” Damian Reed of Danville, VA. The veteran Reed was very tough early in the contest as he slowed Crossed down early. Crossed righted the ship late in the contest as he landed solid left hands on Reed’s face. One judge saw the draw, 38-38 while Crossed won the bout on the other cards, 40-36 and 39-37. Crossed is now 3-0, one KO while Reed is 2-14, one KO.

Junior welterweight Abner “Pin” Cotto, the cousin of former world champion Miguel and former world title challenger Jose Miguel, won a six-round unanimous decision over a very game Samuel “Bruno” Amoako. Cotto, fighting out of Caguas, Puerto Rico, landed the majority of the harder blows in the contest, although Amoako, of Baltimore, MD by way of Accra, Ghana, stayed with Cotto most of the way. Amoako, a late sub who went 10 rounds against Sharif Bogere in the very same DC Armory on April 30, saw his offense decrease throughout the contest. Cotto won by shutout on two of the judge’s cards, 60-54 and 58-56.

Six-foot-six heavyweight Zhang “Big Bang” Zhilei of Zhenghou. China scored a first-round stoppage of John Orr of Kansas City, MO. Zhang landed some solid left hands to drop Orr twice before referee Brent Bovell stopped the contest at 2:27. Zhang is 9-0, six KO’s. Orr is 1-8.

In an all-Maryland heavyweight contest, Mike “Silverback” Balogun of Upper Marlboro made short work of “Mr. 211” Devon Mosley of Capitol Heights. Balogun, a former all-conference football player at the University of Oklahoma, used solid body shots to drop Mosley twice before referee Sharon Sands stopped the contest at 1:08 of the first round. Balogun remains undefeated at 6-0, five KO’s. Mosley remains winless at 0-5-1.


In the opening bout at the DC Armory, undefeated Brooklyn, NY light heavyweight “The Young God” Junior Younan scored a TKO at the end of the first round when his opponent, “The Young Lion” Rodrigo Almeida of Woburn, MA hurt his wrist during the bout. Younan is now 9-0, six KO’s while Almeida drops to 1-5.
