A.B. is quickly becoming short for About Biscuits, or perhaps About Booze. He came in overweight again for his title fight against Ashley Theophane. Broner came in at 140.4. He had two hours to drop .4 pounds and chose not to even weigh in. He was stripped of his 140 pound WBA title. The good news for Ashley Theophane is that he will be able to win the title because he weighed in on point - 140 pounds on the nose.
It was reported on our podcast this week that we thought Broner may be having weight problems. The public workout was canceled this week. This was an indication to me that something was wrong in the Broner camp. Given his past history, that usually means weight problems.
This is extremely disappointing, but his fans here in Cincinnati are pretty used to this behavior and lack of professionalism from him.
