Creed movie trailer and release date

Creed movie trailer and release date

A trailer for "Creed" has been released. "Creed" is a spin-off from the "Rocky" movies.  Most were skeptical before watching the trailer, but were impressed after seeing it.  A cold reception to the 7th "Rocky" movie installment is understandable, given what its predecessor, "Rocky Balboa," delivered in 2006.

The movie takes its name from Rocky Balboa's former staunch rival, Apollo Creed.  Apollo & Rocky became good friends in Rocky III, but the former died in a boxing match with Russian boxer Ivan Drago in"Rocky IV".  "Creed" is about Apollo's son Adonis Johnson Creed, who has obviously followed in his father's footsteps.  The trailer shows Adonis travelling to Philadelphia in order to ask Rocky to be his trainer. He & the (former) champ are then seen talking in the latter's restaurant, where upon seeing a photo of Rocky & Apollo,  Adonis comments: "I heard about a third fight between you and Apollo behind closed doors, is that true?"  This takes Rocky by surprise, which could only mean that he was not aware that he was talking to Apollo's son.  Needless to say, Rocky agrees to train Adonis.

"Creed" stars Michael B. Jordan as Adonis Creed and is directed by Ryan Coogler.  The two have already worked together in "Fruitvale Station," which was directed and written by Coogler at the same time.  It received the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award for U.S. dramatic film at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival.   Knowing that Coogler is at the helm of "Creed" actually makes critics more hopeful about the movie.

Creed, the movie, shows in cinemas on November 25, 2015.
