Adonis Stevenson vs. Sakio Bika Results

Adonis Stevenson vs. Sakio Bika Results PBC

Premier Boxing Champions has returned to CBS this afternoon.  There were two bouts on the card - Adonis Stevenson vs. Sakio Bika and Artur Beterbiev vs. Gabriel Campillo.

Artur Beterbiev vs. Gabriel Campillo
Beterbiev looks much smaller than Campillo.   Campillo knocked down in round 1 with a wide right hand by Beterbiev.  Beterviev was able to land right hands whenever he wanted.  Beterbieb dominated every round of this fight.  Campillo was knocked out in the fourth round with a big right followed by a left.  Campillo was completely out before he hit the canvas.  This was a very impressive win by Beterbiev.  Beterbiev still hasn’t gone past 4 rounds in his professional career.  There was some talk about Beterbiev being ready for a title shot right now.  While, I think he may be ready, I would still like to see him in against someone that can give him some rounds.

Beterbiev winner by KO in round 4

Adonis Stevenson vs. Sakio Bika
Bika was rocked a couple of times late in the 2nd round as Stevenson was able to get that left hand working.  Stevenson winning the early rounds, but Bika definitely having his moments also.  Even when Bika was the aggressor, he seemed to get the worst of the exchanges.  Around the sixth round Bika's legs looked like they were gone.  He wasn't moving and just there to take punches from Stevenson.  A perfect counter left in the sixth round put Bika down.  A bit of clowning from Stevenson as the fight went on, he clearly felt very comfortable as Bika was not moving much.  Throughout the fight Bika was very game and gave his best effort - In fact, he had a pretty good 8th round.  But, in the 9th round, Stevenson hit Bika with a short left hand and Bika went down for the 2nd time in the fight.  Bika had a lot of good moments toward the end of the fight.  In the end, Adonis Stevenson was just too big and strong for him.

The thing that concerns me about a Stevenson - Kovalev fight is the fact that Stevenson is largely a one handed fighter.  He seems to put no effort into that right hand at all.  Superman will need both hands to beat Kovalev.

Stevenson winner by UD
