The WBC is creating a special "emerald belt" for the winner. And now a bronze, gold plated trophy will be the special award that the WBA will present to the winner of the mega-fight between Mayweather and Pacquiao. The news was confirmed by WBA Vice-President Jesús Gilberto Mendoza.
Gilberto Mendoza recently announced on his trip to Mexico "There will be a special trophy on our part. We have not named it yet, because we are still designing it,"
He also had words about the fight it's self "it will depend on the styles. We know Floyd Mayweather’s style is to box and counter-attack, great defense. There will be distance between the two boxers that can make it a bit tedious at times."
He then goes on to say “Pacquiao aggressiveness can turn against him”, he also made clear that he was talking as a boxing fan, and not as a boxing directive. He said that Mayweather “may win by a very close decision."
