Shakur Stevenson takes Silver in Rio!!!

Shakur Stevenson lost a razor thin split decision in the bantamweight final to Robeisy Ramirez of Cuba.

Ramirez took the first round on all of the scorecards, but Stevenson battled back and won the second round on all of the cards.

It all came down to the third round.  I thought Stevenson did very good work in the beginning of the round, but Ramirez came on strong at the end.  With under a minute left, Ramirez threw an eleven punch combination that mostly missed, but was effective in the judges eyes.  The fight ended and they announced Ramirez as the winner.  Stevenson left the ring and was visibly upset.  It was tough to watch.

Stevenson was interviewed immediately after the fight and was visibly upset.  He said that he thought the Cuban won the fight and it hurts because he doesn't like to lose.  He handled this situation was pure class.  He is going to be a champion for sure.

Shakur Stevenson left everything out there and should definitely be congratulated for his accomplishments.  We are extremely proud of him.
