Ward and Froch starting to heat up!!

Andre Ward and Carl Froch in negotiation to fight again.

It looks like we may be another bout between Andre Ward and Carl Froch.  The WBA has mandated that Carl Froch face Andre Ward.  They will start taking purse bids at the end of the month.  Froch seems like a good tune up fight for Andre Ward.  Ward is regarded by many to be one of the best fighters, if not the best, in the world.

Froch and his promoter, Eddie Hearn, would love to have the fight in England since the first fight took place in the United States.  Froch spoke with the Daily Mail and stated "I fought him in the US.  Now it's only right that he comes over here.  To be a truly great champion you have to box overseas.  Ward needs to be forced to travel out of his comfort zone.  I dare him.  He will discover that I'm a very different animal here than I was that night on the Boardwalk."

"I vacated the IBF title so as not to delay James DeGale from getting his chance any longer.  But I'm not giving up the WBA title.  No way.  I will only get back in the ring for a fight that really floats my boat.  And when you think about it, beating Ward in Nottingham would be a fantastic way to end my career."

As expected, Ward didn't seem to be as excited about the prospect of fighting in Nottingham.  "Looks like Frochy Froch remembered my name all of a sudden.  That's good to know.  Looks like the old man is still kicking.  Froch could have gotten this fight years ago, but it took the WBA mandating the fight for him to step up.  This guy.  If this fight does happen, Froch is not dictating anything.  He must have fell and bumped his head."

Andre Ward is still the WBA Super Champion at 168 pounds.  If anyone is going to dictate anything, it will be Ward.  He is definitely the "A" side in this fight and you can almost guarantee that this fight will take place in the United States.

Not real sure why Carl Froch would consider himself a different fighter in Nottingham than in the United States, but I don't see him beating Ward wherever the fight takes place.  Carl Froch is not the same fighter he was when he fought Ward and is in the twilight of his career.  I think fighting Ward is a good idea because it will get him a good payday, but as far as winning the fight, it's a long shot.
