Johnny Gonzalez dedicating fight to wrestler

Johnny Gonzalez dedicating fight to wrestler

WBC Featherweight champion Jhonny Gonzalez is dedicating his upcoming fight Saturday to Mexican wrestler Perro Aguayo Jr. (El Hilo del Perro).  This past weekend, Aguayo died after suffering a cardiac arrest during a wresting match with former WWE wrestler Rey Mysterio.

"I'm going to dedicate this next fight to my friend Pedro "Perro" Aguayo.  Any rudeness that he showed in the ring was pushed to the side when it came to helping people.  He was always organizing events with children and invited me to participate.  I think most people will remember him for that and for his great deeds inside the ring," Gonzales told the Boxing Scene.

Johnny Gonzalez will fight Gary Russell Jr. this Saturday at the Palms Resort in Las Vegas.  The fight will be for the WBC Featherweight title.
