Miguel Cotto will be announcing his first opponent since his signing with Roc Nation Sports.
Cotto's advisor, Gaby Penagaricano, told ESPN Deportes "We're actually discussing names with both HBO and Showtime and seeing how they are willing to approve and then it's up to Miguel to make a decision. We're going to Los Angeles to fulfill certain commitments we made, and we're also going to meet with Freddie Roach to outline the details of training camp. We're going to leave this weekend and we certainly have a lot of work to do," Penagaricano said.
So, who is the next opponent? Amir Kahn? GGG? Tim Bradley? None of the above. Heavy speculation points to Cornelius "K-9" Bundrage as being Cotto's next opponent. Great.
As far as the possibility of fighting Gennady Golovkin, Cotto had this to say to ESPN, "He has to wait like anybody else. He can do whatever he wants. My career does not depend on Gennady Golovkin. Everything I do will be the best for me. That is what I will do."
