So, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Bernard Hopkins have been having a twitter war that has been escalating as of late. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. has had enough and has decided to call out the 50 year old Bernard Hopkins to a fight. Not with him, but with Gennady Golovkin. Yes, you read that correct. Chavez Jr. has issued a challenge on GGG's behalf. Chavez Jr. is said to want to stage the fight on the undercard of his fight with Carl Froch. What exactly makes you think that Bernard Hopkins, first ballot hall of famer, would come down in weight -- and fight on your undercard?
Hopkins and GGG are more marketable fighters than Chavez or Froch. Since when is Chavez Jr. calling the shots and making fights for GGG? But, honestly, if I were Froch or Chavez Jr., I wouldn't want to fight GGG either. He is knocking out everyone lately. Chavez needs to keep his mind on Carl Froch, who is a dangerous fight for him. If he gets by Froch, then he can start calling people out. Until then, maybe he can concentrate on not coming in overweight for his fights - something his father, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., never did.
