According to ESPN Deportes, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and Canelo Alvarez are in negotiations to fight. If negotiations go well, an announcement could be coming in January.
ESPN reports that a source close to Chavez Jr. said that after his victory over Dominick Britsch, chances for the fight happening have increased. Chavez Jr. came in under the 168 pound limit and woudl indicate that he could get lower for this fight.
beIN Sports analyst, Andres Bermudez, suggested that the fight could take place at a catch weight of 164 pounds.
