WBO #5 and former heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs (59-6-1, 52 KOs) scored a second round KO over Mike Marrone (21-5, 15 KOs) on Saturday night at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida. Briggs dropped Marrone at the end of round one and finished him in round two with a body shot. Marrone was counted out at 2:52.
After the fight Briggs grabbed the mic and shouted, “Where’s Klitschko? Let’s go champ! Let’s go champ! Let’s go champ!” WBA/IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko did make an appearance earlier, but left the building before Briggs’ fight.
