Carl Froch vs. GGG could draw 80,000 at Wembley

Carl Froch vs. GGG could draw 80,000 at Wembley

There could be a very big fight in the works between GGG and Carl Froch.  Froch has toyed with retirement, but would like one more big fight before he retires.  Froch was eyeing J.C. Chavez Jr., but since Fonfora knocked him out, that fight has went by the wayside.

GGG would be the next logical choice for a big fight.  He is popular around the world and Carl Froch has already sold out Wembley Stadium.  This would be a no brainer if Froch wants a big fight.  Promoter Barry Hearn thinks that the two would definitely sell out Wembley Stadium.

"I would love to see the fight," Hearn told Sky Sports. "Obviously Carl Froch is a friend, he's a great ambassador for British boxing and a superstar.

"I think Gennady Golovkin is one of the great talents at middleweight.  Now will he take that power into super-middleweight, where Froch is such a dangerous animal?  It has all the ingredients of a great fight."

"Number one, it's certainly an 80,000 seater sell out at Wembley, no question.

"The danger is when you take fights like this, especially at this time of Carl Froch's career, where he doesn't know whether he will fight on or not.  It's a decision he's got to make.  Would he be tempted by Golovkin, which is obviously the toughest fight out there for him?  Even the Ward fight is easier, because he doesn't hurt you, he's just very skilful.  The DeGale fight is a tough one for him again.  All those things come through your mind and it comes down to money as boxing always does."
