Deontay Wilder beats Alexander Povetkin . . . in court

Dan Rafael is reporting, via twitter, that Deontay Wilder has won his civil case against Alexander Povetkin.

Apparently the jury deliberated for about 32 minutes Monday morning and affirmed that Povetkin used meldonium after it was put on the WADA banned list on Jan. 1, 2016.  This, of course, caused their fight to be cancelled last May.

This means that Wilder will get the $4.5 million that was placed in escrow for the fight.  I would expect Povetkin's side to appeal and just carry this out longer.
