WBA calls for three purse bids

World Boxing Association president Gilberto Jesus Mendoza has written to “ALL BONAFIDE PROMOTERS” to inform them that purse bids for the following three WBA world titles will be accepted on Monday, August 15, 2016.

The first title fight is in the heavyweight division and features WBA World interim heavyweight champion Luis “The Real King Kong” Ortiz (25-0, 22 KOs), the knockout artist from Miami, Florida, by way of Camaguey, Cuba, against his mandatory, WBA #3 ranked Alexander Ustinov (33-1, 24 KOs), from Minsk, Ukraine, by way of Paustovo, Russia.
The minimum bid is US$600,000, with 60 percent going to the champion and 40 percent going to the challenger.
The second fight is in the super welterweight division. The principals are WBA World super welterweight champion Jack Culcay (22-1, 11 KOs), from Darmstadt, Hessen, Germany, by way of Ambato, Equador, defending his title against #1 ranked Demetrius Andrade (23-0, 16 KOs), the hard-hitting southpaw from Providence, Rhode Island.
The minimum bid is US$150,000, with 75 percent going to the champion and 25 percent going to the challenger.
The third fight is the unification bout between WBA Super World bantamweight champion Rau’shee Warren (14-1, 4 KOs), from Cincinnati, Ohio, against WBA World bantamweight champion Jamie McDonnell (28-2-1, 13 KOs), the Cinderella Kid from Doncaster, Yorkshire, United Kingdom.
Minimum bid is US$120,000, with 75 percent going to the champion and 25 percent going to the challenger.
The Bidding will take place on Monday, August 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at WORLD BOXING ASSOCIATION OFFICE located at: Avenida Aquilino de la Guardia c/c Calle 47, PH Ocean Plaza, Office 14-05, Marbella, Panama, Panama.
