USA Olympian Carlos Balderas advances

USA Olympian boxer Carlos Zenon Balderas Jr. won a very hard fought decision to advance to the next round.

Balderas fought Kazakstan’s Berik Abdrakmanov in the first round of the olympics.  Balderas lost the first round one tow of the three scorecards, but came back to win the second and third.

It was not a popular decision as the crowd booed.  You could even hear someone on the telecast on a hot mic say that he had Abdrakhmanov winning the fight.  Most observers in the crowd seem to follow that same logic.

Nevertheless, Balderas advances and will take on Japan’s Daisuke Narimatsu on August 9.
