Carl Frampton visits terminally ill fan

Champion boxer Carl Frampton made a terminally-ill fan's day when he visited her Belfast home this weekend.

The Tiger's Bay man, who previously showed his class when he visited boxing fan Jim Coleman in the Northern Ireland Hospice days before his death, spent a few hours in East Belfast on Saturday with Cora Galloway.

The 15-year-old was diagnosed with a brain tumour in December last year.
The meeting was set-up through the Eilish Degnan Cancer Foundation and Frampton promoter Jake McGuigan.

Gerald Degnan set up the foundation in his mother's memory several years ago after she died from cancer.

Gerald told Belfast Live: "We discovered that Cora loved her boxing and she used to do a bit of boxing when she was younger.
"Obviously she was a big, big fan of Carl Frampton and was hoping to see him.

"But we'd no way to get in contact until I was able to get in contact with Jake McGuigan.
"One thing led to another and he phoned us saying that they wanted to sort something out."
Then, on Friday night, the call came in from Frampton himself that he was back home in Belfast and wanted to meet Cora.

Gerald went on: "On Saturday morning we were on our way to Cora's house.
"Carl was very very down-to-earth. He was absolutely fantastic. He came into the house and was able to sit and talk away to Cora.

"He was talking about the boxing, asking about her health and what she was interested in.
He was just absolutely fantastic - he is well worth the title of world champion, and much more."

"He was very caring and spent a couple of hours and brought a few gifts of his own personal things
