Shawn Porter defeats Adrien Broner and becomes King of Ohio

Adrien Broner talked quite a bit of smack leading into the fight with Shawn Porter.  It wasn't just fight hype kind of statements - they were hurtful and accusatory statements toward not only Shawn Porter, but his father, Kenny Porter.  Shawn Porter took it all in stride and handled it with amazing class.

Porter didn't say a word during all of the nonsense being spewed by Broner, until it was time to fight. Porter did the best talking of all - he let his fists do the talking for him.  He dominated the fight on Saturday with a unanimous decision win.

Porter used constant pressure on Broner to win this fight.  Broner looked like he didn't want to be there.  I'm not sure what his problem was.  In my view, it appeared that Broner was faster, bigger, and stronger than Porter.  He was able to back Porter up at times, but did absolutely nothing while backing him up.  That was pretty much the story of the fight.  Broner didn't seem to want to throw any punches, it was like he didn't want to be there.  Porter didn't look overly great in this fight, but he was busier and winning more rounds.  You got the feeling that if Broner would have turned it on, he would have beaten Porter easily.  The final round saw Broner finally get busy and knock down Porter.  Broner was able to win the round easily, the fight was already out of reach, especially since Broner had a point taken away in the 11th for holding.  The final scores were 118-108, 115-111, 114-112.  Ringside Reporter had it scored 115-111 for Porter.

After the fight Broner said "I'm OK. My kids are OK and I'm financially fine, so it's OK.  “I still will fight anybody. It don’t matter. I am a real animal. I came to fight today and I didn’t get the decision. But I’m OK. At the end of the day everyone here will take my autograph and my picture.”  Wow, what a class act - said nobody ever.

There was definitely some tense moments after the fight.  Adrien Broner went to the corner to shake hands with Shawn Porter, which they did because Porter is nothing but class.  However, Kenny Porter, was not so forgiving when Broner went to shake his hand.  Kenny Porter stated that he was not going to shake Broner's hand and pushed him away.  And you know what?  I don't blame him.

Errol Spence vs. Phil Lo Greco
Errol Spence completely dominated the action in this one.  The big story for Spence was the amount of body punches he threw.  It was almost like he went exclusively to the body in this fight.  He was able to put away Lo Greco with a third round TKO.  Lo Greco was way overmatched in this one.  I would have loved to see Garcia in there, but apparently he had some weight issues again.
