Rule Britannia Results - Brook destroys Gavin

Rule Britannia Results - Brook destroys Gavin

Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KOs) retained his IBF Welterweight Championship with a 6th round TKO over Frankie Gavin.  This fight wasn't even close.  Kell Brook seemed to be out of Gavin's league in this fight.  He was able to land punches at will.  Frankie Gavin seemed content to just lay back and try not to get hit.  Once that game plan failed, Gavin didn't seem to have a plan b.  It was apparent that around round 4, Gavin was just trying to survive. The fight was finally stopped in the sixth at 2:51.  While Brook looked really good in this fight, He needs to step up his competition.  Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin are hardly killers.  Brook has a whole division of killers, including Keith Thurmon, who has been calling him out.  Sadam Ali would also be a good opponent.

Heavyweight Anthony Joshua (13-0, 13 KOs) demolished Kevin "Kingpin" Johnson with a second round KO.  Johnson was very outclassed in this fight and it was evident in the opening minutes.  Johnson was knocked down twice in the first.  The second knockdown came toward the very end of the round.  While Johnson was against the ropes, Joshua landed a vicious uppercut that put him down again.  The fight could have and should have been stopped at that moment.  But, Johnson was allowed to come out for the second round.  The referee and his corner did him no favors by sending him out because Joshua just picked up where he left off.  The end came at 1:22 of the 2nd round.

WBC lightweight champion Jorge Linares (39-3, 26 KOs) TKO 10 over Kevin Mitchell (39-3, 29 KOs).

Featherweight Lee Selby (21-1, 9 KOs) wins TD 8 over Evgeny Gradovich (19-1-1, 9 KO's).  With this win, Selby became the new IBF Featherweight Champion.  The bout was stopped at the start of round eight due to a cut over Gradovich’s right eye. Selby won by technical decision 79-73, 80-72, 79-73.

Nathan Cleverly (29-2, 15 KOs) KO 1 over  Tomas Man (13-9-1, 8 KOs).
