Briedis defeats Huck to claim the WBC cruiserweight title

Mairis Briedis outboxed former champion Marco Huck to win the WBC cruiserweight title on Saturday night in Dortmund Germany.  The scores were 116-111, 117-110, and 118-109 all for Briedis.

Huck was outboxed from beginning to end in this fight.  He looked very tentative throughout the fight and just didn't look like he was there.  He wasn't winning rounds and just seemed disinterested.  He looked like his age has caught up with him.

With the victory, Briedis becomes the WBC champion.  The title became vacant when Tony Bellew was named champion emeritus by the WBC.  Bellew is now campaigning at heavyweight.
