Charlo stops J-Rock to retain title

In a bout between two highly skilled, undefeated jr. middleweights, IBF champion Jermall Charlo stopped undefeated challenger Julian "J-Rock" Williams with a vicious counter right uppercut in the fifth round.

From the opening bell, it was easy to see that both were world class fighters. Both men were extremely sharp from the opening bell and were countering each others attack. In round two during an exchange of jabs, Charlo dropped the challenger from Philadelphia. With Williams clearly hurt, he managed to land some very clean hard punches to close out the second round.

Rounds three and four, it seemed like Williams was landing the cleaner, effective punches while showing glimpses of excellent defense. However, in round five Charlo rolled a right hand by J-Rock and countered it with a "vicious right uppercut that landed perfectly on the chin of Williams. Williams returned to his feet, but his legs were gone. Charlo unloaded a barrage of punches sending Williams to the canvas again, forcing the referee to stop the fight.

After the fight, Williams went to congratulate Charlo on his victory and Charlo dismissed Williams. Charlo did eventually apologize and showed great sportsmanship to Williams. During the post fight press conference, Charlo was asked about fighting another undefeated fighter in the jr. middleweight division - former WBO champion Demetrius "Boo Boo" Andrade.  Both fighters talked a little trash before the microphone was taken from Andrade. What a great fight that would be!!
