Las Vegas: Manny Pacquaio (58-6-2 38 KOs) Defeated once beaten Jessie Vargas (27-2 10 KOs) via unanimous decision to claim the WBO Welterweight title. One judge at it 114-113 the other two had it 118-109.
Pacquaio who hasn't fought since defeating Tim Bradley, looked sharp from the opening bell, landing fast hard combinations on the champion Vargas. Vargas went down in round two from a Pacquaio left hand. Although Vargas did land some very nice right handed throughout the fight, it was Manny who controlled the action landing the cleaner harder shops and made Vargas miss a lot.
Floyd Mayweather was ringside watching all the action. Mayweather-Pacquiao 2 in 2017?
