Show me the money makers

Forbes has compiled a list of the top money making boxers in the sport.  You may be surprised that the top money makers are not necessarily the best boxers.

The list goes like this:

1.  Canelo Alvarez - It's tough to disagree on this one.  Canelo has definitely taken over since Floyd Mayweather has retired as the PPV King.

2.  Tyson Fury/Wladimir Klitschko - The winner of this fight will be the lineal heavyweight champion.  That is the man who beat the man.  Whoever wins this fight will be able to name his price in the next fight.

3.  Gennady Golovkin - This is a shocker because GGG is one of the most avoided fighters in boxing right now.  He stands to make a huge payday with Canelo Alvarez, if Alvarez ever decides to fight him.

4.  Deontay Wilder - Chicks dig the long ball and that's exactly why people love to watch Wilder.  People love the KO.  Expect another sensational KO when he fights Chris Arreola.

5.  Andre Ward - Arguably the best pound for pound fighter for years.  He will have his hands full of cash when he signs the contract to fight Sergey Kovalev.

6.  Sergey Kovalev - A win over Andre Ward in the fall could make him a household name.

7.  Terence Crawford - Top Rank is pushing Crawford to the moon and trying to make him a PPV star with his latest fight over Viktor Postol.  If he wins and draws good numbers, expect Crawford to rise up this list quickly.

8.  Keith Thurman - One Time, as he is known, is quickly establishing himself as the man to beat in the welterweight division.  This division is stacked with big names and big fights.

9.  Miguel Cotto - Cotto is definitely on the tail end of his career, but can still fight.  He signed a three fight deal with Roc Nation that would make Donald Trump jealous.  He can fight a club fighter and still get paid a truckload.

10.  Floyd Mayweather - Mayweather can just suggest that he may fight again and the people go crazy with speculation.  He has retired last year and still managed to keep his name relevant.  If he does come back, he will for sure go to the top of this list.
