A decision coming from the WBC on Povetkin-Wilder situation?

Mauricio Sulaiman was asked this weekend about the Deontay Wilder vs. Alexander Povetkin situation.

Povetkin was popped for having meldonium in his system, a substance that has been banned by WADA since the start of 2016.  The fight was subsequently canceled.

“As we said - we have been assessing the topic only through the WBC newsletter and there will be another one coming soon.  We have had meetings with both camps, each of their representatives and we are addressing the situation.  It is very scientific.  We will be speaking about it in the near future,” Mauricio Sulaiman told boxing scene.

Sulaiman said the situation would be resolved “fairly soon.”  Well, that clears it up.  One has to wonder what is taking so long.  He tested positive for a banned substance, end of story.  Why is it taking this long??  Oh yeah, I forgot, Povetkin’s promoter is a billionaire.
