Father and Son time: Shane Mosley Jr. To fight on 'Sugar' Shane Mosley undercard

'Sugar' Shane Mosley (49-9-1, 41 KO's) is trying for the third win in a row this Saturday night against virtually unknown David Avanesyan (21-1-1, 11KO's). The 27 year old Russian welterweight is ranked #1 by the WBA and is favored to win against a confident 44 year old Mosley going after his 50th win.

The Mosley-Avanesyan match up will provide a mandatory opponent for the much anticipated Keith 'One Time' Thurman v. 'Showtime' Shawn Porter bout scheduled for June 25, 2016. Mosley plans not only to win, but to "put on a clinic" but said he would not fight Porter because he sees him "like a little brother". A first for the 'Sugar' Mosley is being trained by another famous name in boxing, Roberto Duran.

There will be two firsts for Avanesyan, defending the interim title and fighting on U.S. soil. Avanesyan won the title in a 9th round KO over Charlie Navarro last November.

The super middleweight Shane Mosley Jr. (6-1-0, 5 KO's) will be featured on the undercard Saturday night against Phoenix local Roberto Young (5-7-0, KO's) in a six rounder. Two more eight rounders are on the undercard:

Victor Castro (16-0-0, 7KO's)
v. Carlos Zararian (6-2-2, 4KO's)
Dimar Ortuz (10-0-2, 7KO's)
v. Ricardo Campillo. (9-9-1, 7KO's)
CBS Sports Net will air the event on
