Stiverne survives knockdown to decision Derric Rossy


Former WBC heavyweight world champion Bermane “B WARE” Stiverne (25-2-1, 21 KOs) recovered from a first round knockdown to hammer out a ten round unanimous decision
over Derric Rossy (30-11, 14 KOs) on Saturday night at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Returning to the ring for the first time since losing his world title to Deontay Wilder in January, Stiverne was dropped on the seat of his pants by a Rossy right hand in round one. After that, the ex-champ’s heavier shots were the difference as he won a competitive unanimous decision 96-93, 96-93 and 95-94.

In a clash of unbeaten junior middleweights, Jarrett Hurd (17-0, 11 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over Frank “Notorious” Galarza (17-1-2, 11 KOs). Hurd dropped Galarza in round four, punished him in round five and got a stoppage from referee Russell Mora when Galarza turned away in round six. Time was :59.

IBF #9 middleweight and 2008 Olympian Sergiy “The Technician” Derevyanchenko (7-0, 5 KOs) scored a dominating third round TKO over Jessie Nicklow (25-8-3, 8 KOs) in a super middleweight bout. Derevyanchenko battered Nicklow from the opening bell until referee Jay Nady waved it off. Time was 2:18. Nicklow took the bout on three days notice.


Unbeaten light heavyweight David “El Bandera Roja” Benavidez (11-0, 10 KOs) destroyed journeyman Felipe Romero (15-10-1, 9 KOs) in the first round. Three knockdowns in 2:00. Benavidez is the youngest fighter to ever appear on ShoBox.
