Kell Brook and Timothy Bradley in talks over welterweight unification clash

Kell Brook and Timothy Bradley in talks over welterweight unification clash

Talks have started to make a welterweight unification fight between Kell Brook and Timothy Bradley.

Brook's promoter Eddie Hearn sat down at the weekend with Top Rank CEO Bob Arum, who oversees Bradley's career, with Brook identifying Bradley as his preferred opponent for a home fight in Sheffield at the end of October.

Discussions will continue this week with representatives for Ruslan Provodnikov and Diego Chavez, but with Amir Khan still elusive, Hearn told Sportsmail: 'Kell wants to fight Bradley.'

He added: 'I had a good meeting with Bob Arum.
'There are plenty of names available but we would like to fight Bradley. Of course we would like to fight Amir Khan, but outside of that fight, this is the best one for us.

'Style-wise it would be an absolute belter.

'I am still hopeful that fight fans will see Khan and Brook fight each other next year but for now, with Khan wanting to fight Manny Pacquiao, Bradley looks like it would be a top fight for Kell.'

Bradley, who controversially beat Pacquiao on a split decision in 2012 before losing their rematch, inherited the WBO welterweight title after Floyd Mayweather was stripped of the belt in July.
