Earlier in the week Adonis Stevenson posted a twitter picture of a Rolls Royce and the following tweet - "Hey @krusherkovalev if you want to get this kind of money and be the REAL champ, it has to go to a purse bid and it has to go through ME. Don't be scared. I've been waiting for this fight too. All the fans can see right through you and @main_events. Don't duck me."
So Kovalev responds back with the following picture below and the caption underneath says: "Adonis looks great!!!"
The picture shows a child wearing a t-shirt. The t-shirt has a monkey face on a man's body wearing boxing gloves. A lot of people have called this a racist tweet, including Adonis Stevenson through twitter. Whether you deem this racist or not, at the very least it's in very bad taste and shows extremely poor judgement by Sergey Kovalev. Both Kovalev and Main Events are really losing the public relations battle in this one. The tweet has since been deleted.
Adonis Stevenson tweeted the following response: "Hey @KrusherKovalev, we saw your deleted racist tweet. Boxing isn't about prejudice. Wanna fight? Punch above the belt."
